  3. Now, come back to the main Settings menu and tap on the Messages option.
  4. Then click on the Send & Receive option in order to further verify the iMessage settings. As you can see, the Apple ID that is being used for iMessage is mentioned here.

Before going any further, make sure that the Apple Id given here is the same one used by iCloud that we verified. If the Apple ID is different, you will have to sign out from the current Apple ID and will have to sign in with the same one. To do that, tap on your Apple ID listed in the iMessage settings.
  6. From the popup menu, tap on the Sign Out option to sign out from that Apple ID.
  7. After you signed out, your listed Apple ID will get replaced by the Use your Apple ID for the iMessage option. Just click on that option.
  8. At last, a confirmation message will appear on your screen, tap on the Sign In option and you will get signed on with the same Apple ID that is being used in your main iCloud account.

Fix the iCloud and iMessage Accounts are Different Error problem on Mac:

If you are using your iMessage app on your Mac and facing this error saying iMessage and iCloud are different on your Mac. Then, you can also fix that with these steps. Here is how:

  1. Click the Apple menu given on the top-left side of your Mac screen, and go to the System Preferences > Apple ID, located on the left side of the window, under your name.
  2. Open the Messages app on your Mac.
  3. Click on the Messages in the menu bar at the top of your screen and select Preferences. And click the iMessage tab.
  4. Now, find your Apple ID. See if your iMessage Apple ID and iCloud Apple ID are the same or not. If not, sign out of the iMessage, and click the Sign Out button.
