If your Mac is in the above list then it is not compatible with macOS Monterey. Unfortunately, these Mac devices won’t receive an official software update for macOS Monterey next week. But you can still use your Mac with macOS Big Sur or macOS Mojave as they are also good operating systems developed earlier by Apple.
What is macOS Monterey Public Beta? Should I install it on my Mac?
In June 2021, the Apple Inc. announced a big update regarding the all new macOS Monterey, new iOS and new watchOS in WWDC21 event. Along with that announcement, the Apple Inc. released macOS Monterey public beta version for all its users. The macOS Monterey public beta version was available on Apple Beta Website beta.apple.com from July 1, 2021. Many Mac users across the world have enrolled their Mac or iMac to download and install this public beta version.
In case you have still not installed macOS Monterey public beta version then we recommend you not to install it now. Because the macOS Monterey full version is officially releasing on next week i.e. October 25, 2021. macOS Monterey Developer Beta: Only for Mac Developers
The Apple Inc. released two beta versions of macOS Monterey in July 2021. The first version was public beta for general public Mac users, while the macOS Monterey developer beta version was only for Mac developers. If you are a Mac developer then you can get macOS Monterey developer beta version from Apple Developer website developer.apple.com and get access to its new features as a developer.
The macOS Monterey developer beta version is specifically designed for Apple developers only. If you are a normal user/owner of a Mac device then you should not download the developer beta version.
